Are you passionate about improving patient outcomes through delivering inclusive education to the workforce? Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance is seeking a dynamic Research Education Project Manager to create a training programme via the GM Cancer Academy. The Project Manager will lead the BRIDGE project--Broadening cancer Research participation and Diversity through a Greater Manchester Education Programme. The role, The Research Education Manager will support the Workforce and Education Programme to:
- Plan and deliver educational initiatives for the multi-professional workforce, including developing eLearning modules, videos, webinars, and infographics, aligned with ACCEND.
- Identify key capabilities within ACCEND, ensuring all educational content aligns with national standards.
- Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish a project steering group, incorporating input from research nurses, oncology experts, patient representatives, and the wider cancer workforce.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to agreed schedules.
- Lead liaison with key stakeholders across the system
This secondment focuses on expanding access to cancer research by building the skills and cultural competency of GM's cancer workforce. The BRIDGE project will develop a multi-layered educational programme that enhances patient access to trials, improves workforce communication skills, and fosters a culture of inclusivity and empowerment. You'll have the chance to advance a research-positive environment that benefits staff, patients, and communities alike, creating opportunities for meaningful impact. Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance (GM Cancer) is a venture that brings together patients, charities, NHS and academic institutions with the aim of securing world-class cancer outcomes and experience for our population. Greater Manchester Cancer is the cancer programme of the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board. The GM Cancer Academy is a Programme of work within the Workforce and Education Programme. The team are dynamic, diligent, and passionate about supporting the cancer workforce to ensure they have equitable access to training and education to develop the right skills to respond to the needs of people affected by cancer, adapt to new, improved ways of working, continue to modernise the way they work, and embrace technology to deliver the best quality healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of cancer workforce and education in Greater Manchester, and to essentially improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.
Secondment only opportunity: 0.4WTE (15 hours per week) and is 12 months fixed term from the contract start date.
