Full Job Description

Nottingham City Council has an ambition to become a leader in the creation and use of research and evaluation methods within Public Health and the wider organisation. As Research & Evaluation Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of high quality research and evaluation projects, promoting research and evaluation within the organisation and ensuring effective links with local and national research networks and functions. The postholder will be required to provide specialist expertise on research and evaluation methods and management, and undertake applied research across a wide range of public health topics and methods.,

    Do you have research experience in a public health related field? Would you like to apply that experience to conduct research and evaluation projects that will make a real impact to the health and wellbeing of Nottingham's communities? If so, we would love to hear from you!,
  • Ability to analyse, synthesise, interpret and present complex qualitative and quantitative data & findings from research and evaluation projects, typically gained through post-graduate study such as the Masters in Public Health or related scientific, research or analytic fields.
  • Ability to interpret, summarise and critically appraise national and international research and locally derived evidence to support design of and investment decisions relating to innovative solutions for local public health initiatives and health services.
  • Understanding of alternative methods of evaluation (including process, outcome, impact, economic) and under-pinning approaches to project or programme objective setting (including logic frameworks, theories of change).
  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing a project management approach in research and evaluation projects.
  • Ability to manage by influencing, negotiating, facilitating and encouraging involvement from a range of people and organizations.
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations and training on public health and associated topics to a range of audiences.
  • This role will require the postholder to obtain a DBS check. The postholder will also require the ability to live and work in the UK.
