Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join an international project as a Research Fellow (AC2) in the School of Art and Media.
The project, entitled "Ageism in AI: new forms of age discrimination and exclusion in the era of algorithms and artificial intelligence (AGEAI)", is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation for the period of 2023-2027 to investigate age discrimination in AI systems, products and services.
The role will involve planning and carrying out new empirical research, gathering and analysing qualitative data, and writing reports and papers; dissemination activities including presenting at conferences and running stakeholder events with international partners at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), Open University of Catalonia, and Leiden University, Amsterdam.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
o A degree, preferably in social sciences or humanities
o A strong, demonstrated capacity to undertake research and publication either in refereed academic journals or as formal reports
o Research experience in a topic related to the research project, for example: age discrimination, algorithmic discrimination or artificial intelligence
