Research Fellow

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join our team based in Plymouth. This position will be for 7.5 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months. As a Research Fellow you will develop, conduct and lead research, enterprise and knowledge transfer in a defined field of study, in alignment with our social mission. You will develop a publication profile, partnerships and contribute to the securing of grant funding. You will ensure that research and all related activity is of the highest standard and enhances the reputation of PDSE, the Dental School and University. This post presents an excellent opportunity to develop your interests in public health and oral health inequalities. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team comprising clinicians, health service researchers, methodologists, patients and other stakeholders. Our work centres on community engagement and outreach to better understand the oral health needs of vulnerable population groups and their access to care. This work generates an inclusive and multidisciplinary approach to identifying gaps in evidence and optimal approaches to targeting oral health inequalities and inequities.

• A starting salary of £45,942 per annum (pro rata). The actual salary based on a 7.5 hour contract will be £9,188.40 per annum.

Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE) are an award-winning Social Enterprise and Community Interest Company. We provide NHS treatment and outreach services to local communities in Devon and Cornwall and we work closely with the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Dental School to support the clinical education of its dental healthcare students.
