Full Job Description

The work will extend currently operating test rigs that feature both simulation and physical hardware. These rigs will be used to understand and analyse real software executing on networked multicore processors featuring both traditional safety-critical software and machine learning. The two roles will involve: verification and validation and machine learning in the design and assurance of safety-critical mixed-criticality scheduled systems; and the use of statistical techniques to learn and assure network-based systems forming a Digital Twin of the system.

+ PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience
+ First degree in Computer Science or related subject
+ Knowledge in Computer Science (or Related) to engage in high quality research
+ Knowledge of embedded real-time systems
+ Highly developed communication skills to engage effectively with a wide-ranging audience, both orally and in writing, using a range of media
+ Ability to lead and/or take responsibility for a small research project or identified parts of a large project
+ Ability to develop research objectives, projects, and proposals for own and joint research
+ Well-developed analytical skills
+ Collaborative ethos
