Full Job Description

This role has been funded to increase participant recruitment to early phase research studies and will focus on supporting Airways Disease Optimisation Clinics which are run on the Clinical Research Facility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Respiratory Research Lead consultant, other research fellow(s), research nurses and CRF staff to review patients that may be suitable for research studies and support the additional administrative work these reviews will generate.

In line with funding, this post is being offered for a fixed term period of 12 months in the first instance., The Respiratory team are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Clinical Fellow who is able to work within our multidisciplinary team but is also able to work autonomously.

To act as sub-investigator and provide medical cover as part of a multidisciplinary team for commercial and non-commercial clinical research studies, delivering those studies safely, on time and to target, complying with the regulatory requirements.

To work with our established respiratory research fellow and support innovative processes to help identify possible participants. With consultant oversight and support, deliver airway disease optimisation clinics on the Clinical Research Facility and offer attendees participation in research studies with a focus on early phase studies.

Engage as appropriate with all aspects of the development and conduct of research studies, including the submission and maintenance of regulatory documents, the recruitment of subjects and providing medical cover. The post holder will work to ensure that all studies are conducted to Good Clinical Practice.

Maintain accurate records (paper and electronic) as required by regulatory authorities and the R&D department at relevant Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic doctor with an interest in respiratory medicine and research to join the Respiratory Medicine department based on the Royal Liverpool site of Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

It is expected that all applicants have previous experience working within the NHS as a medical practitioner. The successful candidate must be able work successfully as part of a dynamic respiratory research team.

£43,923 to £63,152 a year per annum (dependant on experience)
