Full Job Description
We are recruiting a research fellow to contribute to the development and psychometric analysis of a new patient-reported experience measure (PREM) for maternity services in England. The post holder will be supervised by a senior psychometrician (Dr Sarah Smith). The principal investigators are Associate Professors Sarah Smith and Ipek Gurol Urganci.
Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and have experience in psychometric methods (preferably both classical and Rasch-based methods) and also in generating and piloting questionnaire items. Candidates should have ability to work both independently and collaboratively, communication skills (written and spoken) and good organisational skills. Ideally candidates should have knowledge and experience of PROMs and/or PREMs within the NHS. Experience of teaching and assessment and contributing to research grant applications is desirable.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 30 April 2026. The post is funded by the NIHR and is available from 01 March 2025.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £44,847 - £50,808 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary "Wellbeing Days". Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
