Full Job Description
This role is a permanent, full-time core post (1.0 FTE) and will join a team of Centre staff, led by CBC Director Professor Susan Michie and co-Director Dr Fabi Lorencatto. We are looking to recruit one post at either Grade 7 (Fellow) or Grade 8 (Senior Fellow).
The postholder will join a team of experts in the field of behaviour change, with the primary focus of the role being to contribute to the co-ordination and development of the research consultancy and training activities at the Centre. The role will also involve supporting teaching on BSc/MSc behaviour change modules and developing an academic research portfolio in the candidate's areas of interest.
The duties of the post will include identifying and applying for research consultancy opportunities, responding to requests for research consultancy and bespoke training, and leading the delivery of research consultancy and bespoke training projects. These activities will be undertaken with a view to generate publishable research, where possible. The postholder will also contribute to the organisation and delivery of the CBC's annual International Training Programme as well as supporting teaching activities on the CBC's third-year BSc module and MSc programme (e.g., supervising MSc research projects, delivering guest lectures, supporting marking). There will be opportunities for engagement in independent research and PhD/postdoc supervision to develop a full portfolio in the area of behaviour change
The post-holder should hold a first degree and a PhD or Professional Doctorate in a behavioural science.
They will have excellent knowledge of behaviour change theory and evidence, with experience of designing and delivering research projects, plus teaching and/or training in behaviour change.
Additionally, the post-holder will have experience of working with non-academic stakeholders, either through prior experience of delivering training/consultancy projects for external customers, or through experience in conducting applied research projects.
Applications from those with experience or interest in sustainability issues will be particularly welcome.
