Full Job Description

The Trust is looking to recruit a 1.0 WTE research midwife. The aim of this post is to allow opportunity for a high calibre individual to develop their skills in the field of research and to become a strong autonomous research practitioner.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Trust with its commitment to a sustained and dramatic increase in recruitment of patients into research studies.

The Trust has a diverse and growing portfolio of research studies that its researchers are recruiting to, some of which overlap with otherspecialities within the organisation.

The role is fixed term for 12 months.

Internal secondments may be considered but applicants MUST SEEK APPROVAL from their substantive clinical line manager FIRST., This role will be central to the day-to-day co-ordination of all participant facing activity, leading and supporting the delivery of research studies across the multiple speciality areas within obstetrics/maternity., The individual will also be responsible for assisting the RD&I Department with feasibility and set up of new NIHR portfolio studies, working collaboratively with Principal Investigators, wider key teams and stakeholders across the NHS, academia and industry to support the successful delivery of commercial and non-commercial studies.

The successful individual will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and have the ability to manage and prioritise their workload within a diverse, multidisciplinary team. The individual will be experienced in the management of clinical research activities particularly within a maternity setting.
