Full Job Description

  • Research areas include a range of respiratory conditions like lung cancer, pleural diseases, long COVID, sarcoidosis, COPD, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, and respiratory sleep and breathing disorders. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of allocated respiratory trials and main responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating and providing care for trial participants
  • Collecting and processing biological samples
  • Gathering and managing trial data
  • You will take part in all aspects of respiratory care and trial assessments, including spirometry, phlebotomy, ECGs, observations and history taking., You will be responsible for the planning and day-to-day management of assigned respiratory studies. Essential qualities and skills include:
  • NMC Registered Adult Nurse
  • Have excellent record keeping skills and maintain files and notes accurately.
  • Educate patients about medication use and diary completion
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and trial monitors to ensure recruitment and follow-up according to trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice.
  • Work closely with other research nurses and practitioners in the delivery team to ensure optimal care and support for trial participants in our research portfolio.
  • Participate in team meetings and attend relevant training sessions and investigator meetings, which may require travel.
  • Desirable skills include venepuncture, spirometry and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
