Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a research nurse or AHP to join the research team within Division 2 (Cardiology, Diabetes, Endocrine and Stroke). This role will require cross site working at times.

The Division 2 portfolio is very active at UHD offering trials in multiple specialities. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Research Nurses and other members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to offer trial opportunities to both inpatients and outpatients.

Current experience in at least one of the areas listed above is an advantage. Previous clinical research experience is desirable but not essential. You will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients participating in clinical trials, being responsible for a caseload of trial patients. This will involve the identification, recruitment, education and monitoring of these patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will be required to prioritise your own workload and to work autonomously as well as being responsible for identifying new research opportunities.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, be highly organised, flexible, have good attention to detail and have the ability to adapt your working day according to what opportunities arise.

The post will be predominantly working within the Division 2 team, however you will need to be flexible in your working approach, and provide cross-cover and collaboration where required.

This post is advertised as a Band 6 however if the successful applicant does not fulfil the person specification, we may offer it as a Band 5 with progression to a Band 6 when certain competencies are met - (we would expect this to occur within 6 -12 months).
