Full Job Description

To provide research within the Research & Intelligence team in support of DRM. Research is primarily focused on delivering research on strategic partners and their market sectors to inform and maximise the overall ongoing relationship with Defence.

5. Principal Areas of Accountability, Tasks and Duties

a. Maintain delivery of Research & Intelligence's key outputs:

i. Conduct due diligence checks on organisations signing the AFC and those nominated for Silver and Gold ERS awards.

ii. Conduct DRM surveys, including the annual Satisfaction Survey and the Customer Satisfaction Survey, and provide statistical analysis of the results.

iii. Produce qualitative and quantitative research in response to DRM queries to underpin its operations and output, in addition to the production of proactive research outputs.

b. Providing direct support to the Senior Research Officer, including:

i. Support to commission, manage and monitor external research projects.

ii. Support to develop, standardise and improve DRM's research processes, as well as identify new research sources pertaining to market research, logistics research, etc.

iii. Produce snapshots of industry sectors and organisational activity within them.

iv. Support in the regular refresh and validation of DRM Accounts, utilising appropriate research sources.

v. Utilise the Salesforce CRM system to provide supporting information e.g. on accounts, regional and sector data and contacts.

vi. Assist in the conducting of focus groups as required.

vii. Analyse complex data and conduct relevant statistical analysis on data in order to decipher key data trends, and subsequently construct appropriate recommendations from generated output.

c. Any other duties within the broad remit of this role that may be reasonably required., b. This role may require occasional travel within the UK, including attending evening or weekend events to assist in the delivery of DRM outputs.

a. Educated to degree level or equivalent.

b. An exceptional knowledge of Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

c. Computer literate with a strong familiarity of management information or CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce).

8. Experience.

a. Essential.

i. Up to two years' relevant experience in research provision or comparable.

ii. Familiarity with research methods and with conducting qualitative and quantitative research.

iii. Comfortable utilising internet research tools and using open source and paid sources to find information.

b. Desirable.

i. Understanding of both military and corporate cultures.

ii. Educated to postgraduate level.

iii. Personal interest in current affairs.

iv. Approachable and friendly -"customer oriented" and professional.
