Full Job Description
To provide information to cancer patient and carers, considering entry in to specific cancer research.
Recruitment to non CTIMP research.
Support the research nurses by taking on trial patient follow up in clinics.
To provide assistance in the CTU lab with spinning and storage of bloods.
To assist with the co-ordination of a portfolio of clinical trials across various disease sites. Providing administrative and data management support for all aspects of trial organisation.
To communicate and collaborate with local regional and national organisations regarding administration of oncology research as required
We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Officer to join an established Clinical Trials Unit. You will ideally be educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent level of knowledge and experience acquired through training and experience, also theoretical intermediate knowledge of lab sample handling, and principles of Good Lab Practice and knowledge in health care. With a good working knowledge of computer software packages and excellent word processing skills. In this role you will work within designated oncology research teams responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of blood sampling, blood processing, storage and transportation of all research blood samples. To perform venepuncture and cannulation of trial patients. To assist the research nurses with appropriate trial related procedures, e.g. ECG, BP General Observations. Data collection, CRF completion and query resolution portfolio of studies. Therefore, you must have the proven ability to prioritise
your workload and produce high standard, accurate work, to deadlines.
You must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as there is a need to communicate at a local and at an all Wales basis.
