Full Job Description

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to join our Llama Large Language Model (LLM) Research team. We are looking for recognized experts in NLP or reinforcement learning; with experience in areas like LLM alignment; multilingual modeling; code generation; responsible AI; and model controllability. The ideal candidate will have an interest in producing and applying new science to help us develop and responsibly release large language models., 1. Lead, collaborate, and execute on research that pushes forward the state of the art in large language model research.
2. Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results.
3. Work with a large and globally distributed team.
4. Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts.
5. Help identify long-term ambitious research goals as well as intermediate milestones.
6. Prioritize research that can be applied to Meta's product development.
7. Mentor other team members. Play a significant role in healthy cross-functional collaboration.

8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
9. A PhD in AI, computer science, or related technical fields.
10. Experience holding an industry, faculty, or government researcher position.
11. Publications in machine learning.
12. Experience writing software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets.
13. Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment., 14. Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research.
15. 2+ year(s) of work experience in a university, industry, or government lab, in a role with primary emphasis on AI research.
16. First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL).
17. Experience developing and debugging in Python.
