An excellent opportunity has arisen to work with the Oxford Radiology Research Unit (ORRU) within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust as a Research Services Manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Services Manager to deliver research studies and development in Radiology as well as coordinate research activities within our organisation that have a radiology component. This includes facilitating collaboration between departments and ensuring a quality service is provided to support over 300 research studies that use Radiology's services. Working for a service department in conjunction with research delivery is a unique opportunity to hone your operational skills across the research spectrum and the wider Trust.
ORRU has a vital role in leading and facilitating clinical and scientific research and development in all aspects of cross-sectional imaging. We ensure quality and provision of clinical trial services is in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
ORRU aims to create a future-orientated imaging department to realise the full potential of imaging data for early diagnosis, precision medicine and improved patient outcomes through development of novel biomarkers, minimally invasive techniques and informatics solutions., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
The Research Services Manager is a critical role that will be based at the Churchill Hospital and responsible for line management duties across a friendly multi-disciplinary team of nurses, radiographers, administrators and data managers. You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills and must be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork, resilience and a real 'can do' attitude.
You should be familiar with research methodologies and data collection techniques as you will play a key role in delivering high quality support for research projects across OUHFT which are supported by the Radiology Research Unit. You will have strong project management skills and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments, ensuring projects are set up efficiently, to a high quality, and delivered on time. You will have knowledge of ethical considerations and regulations related to research and data collection.
You will oversee the budgeting process for research projects, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and expenditure tracking. In addition, you will have excellent communication, administrative and IT skills and supportive of new initiatives that align with the Trust's research strategy.
