Full Job Description

The Faculty of Law is looking to appoint a Research Strategy Support Officer, which is a new role in the department. The post holder will provide administrative and operational support for all the research-related aspects of the Law Faculty Strategy, directly reporting to the Head of Research (Deputy Head of Administration and Finance). The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Dean(s) for Research, the REF Co-ordinator(s), the Senior Research Facilitator and the Faculty's Research Support Team, the Divisional Impact Facilitator (Law), the Faculty's Centres/Institutes and key contacts in Research Services and other University units., The successful candidate should have research facilitation experience, including a good understanding of the research funding landscape and preparing funding applications. They will be educated to a degree level or equivalent and have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. The post holder will have effective interpersonal skills with a proven ability to handle and prioritise a complex portfolio of responsibilities. Additionally, they'll have experience of research communications, such as managing a website or identifying key news stories, and a solid understanding of REF processes and requirements.

In particular, the post holder will be mostly responsible for supporting the Research Excellence Framework ('REF'), (some aspects of) Research Communications, Research Governance and Research Funding.

The post is permanent and full time. The postholder will be based in the Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.
