Full Job Description

We have a vacancy for a Research Technician in Newcastle University Centre for Cancer. You will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic multi-discipline cancer research environment, as part of a Cancer Research UK/Children with Cancer funded program.
The remit of the project is to investigate the origins and consequences of whole chromosome gain in leukaemia and medulloblastoma, working with Dr Paul Sinclair and Professor Christine Harrison to develop human artificial chromosome based on multi-gene expression models.
The post will work as part of a professional community to provide a technical support with a wide range of experimental techniques to staff and students. Enthusiasm, meticulous record keeping, attention to detail and determination to resolve problems are essential.

You must have a BSc or equivalent within the field of biological sciences. Experience with mammalian tissue culture and molecular cloning in bacteria or yeast, would be an advantage although training will be provided.
