Full Job Description

We are recruiting a research technician to our group within the Centre for Biological Timing at the University of Manchester.

We explore how energy metabolism is regulated by the circadian clock in health and disease; specifically, we use in vivo and in vitro models to study how the internal body (circadian) clock controls the energy metabolism on a cellular and systemic level, as well as the contribution of clock disruption to metabolic diseases and obesity.

The post holder will support and lead on a range of research activities, and we are looking for an experienced scientist who can design and perform experiments independently, and make a substantial contribution to data analysis and presentation.

As the post holder will also contribute to general laboratory management, we are seeking a candidate who is highly organised, and has knowledge of relevant health and safety practices.

This post is advertised as full time. However, we are open to candidates who prefer less-than-full-time working, and we would consider offering the post at 0.
