Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic junior researcher capable of contributing to the development of a theoretical foundation and software tools for the modelling, verification and synthesis of systems and processes that exhibit stochastic behaviour. You will support an experienced research team to integrate for the first time a range of modelling methods for stochastic systems, to develop software that automates the verification and synthesis of stochastic systems that employ this new, heterogeneous modelling paradigm, and to validate the theory and tools delivered by the project.
The main purpose of the role is to provide support to research project/s, undertaking research work within the overall programme and assisting with the day to day operation of the project/s.
This role is fixed term for 7 months.

+ Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
+ Knowledge of relevant subject area
+ Knowledge of a range of research techniques and methodologies
+ Ability to undertake academic research. Examples may include preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments or field work, the development of questionnaires and conducting surveys
+ High level oral communication skills to enable the effective presentation of research progress and outcomes to key stakeholders
+ Ability to work as part of a team and also to work independently using own initiative
+ Experience of developing software tools and applications for a range of platforms, and for use by non-technical stakeholders
+ Interest in and enthusiasm for the subject matter of the project
