As Resident Medical Officer, you'll play a crucial role providing on call and day shift cover for Cygnet Harrow.

Cygnet Harrow provides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

This role will be based on our 18 bed Male Acute ward. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

You'll be covering a mix of out of hours on call (5pm - 9am / weekends) and day shifts (9am-5pm) on the acute ward, with access to Consultant advice.

The MDT staff are actively encouraged and supported to complete Quality Improvement Projects, as part of our supportive culture to continue to improve on the quality of care we provide.

There are excellent opportunities to progress your career in the form of support to complete MRCPsych exams.

Main duties of the job

In the role, you'll carry out:

  • ECGs Bloods

  • NG tubing

  • Patient admissions

  • Patient assessments

  • Risk assessments

  • Mental health assessments
