Full Job Description

You will work on a day shift basis in a Children's Home within South Powys. The home supports 4 children/young people aged 5-18 with behaviours associated with a learning disability, complex needs and autism. You will create a safe, healthy, learning, fulfilled home where children have their voices heard to achieve positive outcomes in their lives, whilst establishing and promoting positive relationships with the children, young people and their families to enable the young person to develop and thrive. About you:

  • You will understand the importance of providing professional specialist support to provide a safe and effective service, delivered in a way that is sensitive to the needs of children and young people.
  • What you will do:
  • You will work on a day shift rota to provide continuous care as part of team to the children and young people living in the home.
  • You will build positive relationships through nurture, teaching connection before correction with a patient and calm manner and promote healthy, safe routines by creating a warm, inclusive home.
  • You will organise and promote activities for children and young people to learn new things and explore interests, hobbies, and life skills within the home and the local community.
  • Work in partnership with families and carers of young people in achieving the aims and objectives of the young people's plans.
  • You will follow agreed policies, procedures, and legislative standards in your work.
  • Always striving to keep up to date with best practice.
