Full Job Description

  • As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be involved in providing direct care for children and expected to be engage with children and their families and be highly ambitious in helping them to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Our focus is directed towards a child centred approach where we actively promote children's rights. We deliver our services in safe personalised small group homes where the care is aimed at supporting children's welfare., Note: Applicants appointed to posts that require an enhanced DBS clearance must declare any periods of time that they have lived, studied or worked abroad and be prepared to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or a Statement of Good Conduct (SOGC) relating to anytime they were overseas

    We are looking for people who have some experience of working with children in any setting to join our Children's Residential Services within Walsall. We have a number of full-time and part-time posts we are recruiting to coinciding with us opening our new home in the coming months.


  • This role requires you to be resilient, resourceful, enthusiastic and motivated to be a positive influence on our children.

    All successful candidates will be expected to work as part of a team that provides 24/7 on a rota basis. These shift patterns may vary across the service but they will all include working weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in duties (additional payment) .
  • Qualified candidates will hold a level three/four qualification in children's residential care or equivalent.

  • We also encourage applications from unqualified candidates who can demonstrate some experience whether this be employed or voluntary who have a passion for working with children., Our Homes can accommodate children up to their 18th Birthday. Due to the nature of this post employees must be at least 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 21 years of age or older


  • This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
