Full Job Description

The role will consist of
- Providing practical & emotional support and encouragement to the students, to ensure their safety & wellbeing is maintained.
- Ensuring students adhere to the rules & regulations of the Academy including dealing with incidents & making them aware of the required behavioural standards.
- Contributing to teamwork, arranging, overseeing, and engaging in both on & offsite activities.
- Being available & approachable to all students, respecting confidentiality whilst adhering to safeguarding policies.
- Playing an active part in building a strong and positive identity & community spirit at the Academy

Communication
- You will be expected to liaise & communicate with students, other staff members & on occasion parents.
- You will be accountable in the first instance to the Duty Residential Manager.
Hours
- Evenings, overnight shifts and some weekends.

Excellent communication skills

- Proven ability to work positively as part of a team & on own initiative .

- A good understanding of needs in a residential setting, housing a diverse group of people

- Proven ability to behave in an appropriately assertive way & deal with difficult situations.

- Willingness & ability to work flexibly

- Good understanding of health & safety and confidentiality

- Desire to help young people to develop & learn

- Successful applicants will be required to hold a full driving licence & to undergo a DBS check,

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


    • Experience:
  • Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)

  • Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)


    • Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent


    • Pay: £12.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 24 - 48 per week
