Full Job Description

Our second line of defence risk team provide independent oversight by challenging and supporting the first line in managing risks inherent with HSBC Innovation Banking business activity. Acting as a secure control function, they ensure all activities undertaken on the companies' behalf can be reported on and are aligned with HSBC Innovation Banking's prescribed risk appetite, as well as comply with local and Group level regulatory and compliance requirements. We currently have 2 opportunities to join us as a Resilience Risk Specialist., The Resilience Risk Specialist, will support the Second Line Resilience Risk Team within HSBC Innovation Banking in the implementation and effective oversight of the Bank's Resilience Risk Framework and associated policies.

What you can expect to be doing:

Undertaking critical assessment and challenge of effectiveness of data protection system, controls including maturity and risk assessments

Maintaining robust records of the framework, responsibilities, controls, testing and monitoring result, risk assessments and product of reports for Risk Steward as well as risk committee reporting, where required.

Supporting with the oversight and effective challenge with a strong focus on data risks in areas such as risk and control process related assessments, scenarios, events and incident management, risk appetite monitoring, risk metrics and regulatory reporting, where required.

Providing analysis to facilitate the effective oversight, challenge and engagement with risk owners, control owners to ensure data risks are managed in accordance to policy and governance

Supporting in the provision of effective oversight on operational activities and change initiatives as it relates to data risks and data governance

Promoting and developing risk awareness and risk management culture in order to ensure that the material risks are both evident and effectively managed

Strong track record of risk and control experience within a Financial Services, coupled with expert knowledge of Data Risk eg data protection, data governance, data architecture, IT solutions, privacy and change delivery.

Good understanding of data protection and governance frameworks such as UK GDPR and Data Protection Act/DCAM
