Full Job Description

As a Resilience and Wellbeing Mentor at Shaw Trust, your primary purpose is to provide mentoring support to young people, facilitating a successful transition from year 6 to 7 and year 11 to 12. Operating within the Adapt Belong Achieve (ABA) program in Havering, you will work closely with primary, secondary, and post-16 education providers, addressing the unique needs of learners facing additional barriers, such as those at risk of exclusion, with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), or from low-income families. Your role will also involve supporting peer mentors recruited and trained to assist young people within educational establishments.

Qualification or a willingness to work towards Level 5 in Coaching and Mentoring or equivalent
Demonstrable evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience of carrying out assessments of young people's needs and developing programmes of support tailored to meet them
Experience of working with young people in formal or informal settings
