Full Job Description
We focus on finding the best placements for children and young people, whether it's fostering, residential care, or supported accommodation. We handle searches across both our in-house provision and external providers. Our team is incredibly supportive and is part of the Gateway to Resources Service within the Children's, Families, and Lifelong Learning Directorate. We collaborate closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure that each child and young person is matched with a placement that will help them achieve the best outcomes. In this role, you'll manage a caseload of children and young people, actively seeking out the right placements for them. This includes both planned and emergency placements for children, young people, and care leavers. It's a really rewarding role where you can make a significant difference in their lives. You'll be part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive difference in the community, one placement at a time, by putting people first and striving for excellence in everything we do.
- Ability to negotiate appropriate levels of service provision to make sure that best value for money is secured
- You can develop and maintain a good working knowledge of providers and good working relationships with internal and external professionals
- Effective organisational and time management skills to work towards challenging deadlines
- Excellent communication and have negotiation skills

This role has a starting salary of £35,730 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity. We are excited to be hiring a new Resource Officer to join our fantastic and supportive Allocations Team.
