Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Band 6 Nurse Navigator to join the team at UCLH for a period of 14 months. The role will involve supporting the UCLH bronchoscopy service. This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly.   • Supporting patients through the National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway (NOLCP) and lung screening programme
  • Telephone pre-assessment service to ensure all patients are fit for procedure and to give guidance
  • Deliver patient centred care by acting as a point of contact and keyworker for patients and GP's ensuring there is a community link with primary care services
  • Support the Respiratory clinicians in the efficient co-ordination and organisation of diagnostic tests providing an important link with between theatres, anaesthetics and the Respiratory department
  • Provide advice and refer on or sign-post to other sources of support for patients
  • Provide logistic support for in terms of procurement for robotic bronchoscopy
  • Participate in and support research and audit programmes/objectives for the Respiratory department
  • Participate in a programme of self-development, clinical supervision and individual performance review (IPR)
