Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Respiratory Clinical Physiologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As the Senior Respiratory Clinical Physiologist, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality respiratory diagnostic services working in a small team of two clinical physiologists to ensure the smooth operation of our growing respiratory department.,
- You will lead and quality assure your colleague in the pair and providing guidance, training, support and strategic direction for the Pulmonary Function service to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.
- Performing a wide range of respiratory diagnostic tests, including, lung function testing, initiate and monitor CPAP therapy, contribute to the oxygen service and perform and analyse basic and multi-channel sleep studies, in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Leading on the Lung Function reporting for the most complex patients, supporting the decision-making of your junior colleague.
- Being the first point of contact for Physiology services in Respiratory. You will- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including respiratory physicians and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients with respiratory conditions.

BSc Clinical Physiology (Hons) or equivalent BSc in Sciences - Two years' experience with performing advanced lung function testing at a B6
- Proven post-qualification experience at B6 level
- Accreditation with the ARTP Desirable
- MSc or equivalent; in progress or completed
- Experience in leadership roles
- Ability to build professional relationships
We are an acute Trust, rated "Good" by the CQC, with a track record of high performance providing regional and super regional specialist services such as : Burns, Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery, Wessex Regional Genetics Laboratory, Wessex Rehabilitation, Spires Cleft Centre and the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre. We have about 470 beds and employ over 4000 staff.
The role involves working weekdays Monday to Friday and times and days within this working week can be flexible. We are offering a generous welcome payment of £8,748 and relocation package for this post., We support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the service. On-site benefits include car parking (fee applies), leisure centre, day nursery and holiday play scheme., We are offering a generous Welcome Payment of £8,748 alongside this post. 50% of this amount £4,347 would be made on commencement to the trust and the second 50% payment of £4,347 would be made after 24 months of employment. A generous negotiable relocation package is also offered for this post. The relocation package would be agreed prior to commencing with the trust and would be paid on commencement following receipt of relevant receipts relating to relocation.
