Bridgend County Borough Council is looking for an inspirational leader to take on the exciting role of Responsible Individual for five children's residential services, with ambitious plans for future expansion. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant difference in the care and development of children and young people across the borough.
About the Role:
As the Responsible Individual for our children's residential services, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance. With services dedicated to supporting children with diverse and complex needs, your role will involve:
Overseeing the delivery of outstanding care across five residential services for children and young people.
Leading Registered Managers to ensure services are safe, nurturing, and in line with the Social Services & Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
Ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) standards and driving continuous improvement across services.
Leading the expansion of children's residential services, working with the council and external partners to develop new provisions that meet the needs of children in care.
Fostering a collaborative culture, ensuring children's voices are central to decision-making processes.
We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong background in managing children's residential services.
You will need:
Registration with Social Care Wales.
Significant experience in a leadership role within children's residential.
A thorough understanding of the RISCA regulations and CIW inspection framework.
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop staff teams, driving a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
A strategic mindset to guide the expansion of services.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
