Full Job Description

  • In this role you are a Resuscitation and Clinical Simulation Education Facilitator, delivering core training and working towards delivering the daily operational resuscitation service, under the guidance of the Resuscitation Operational Leads.
  • You will act as a professional resource and advisor on resuscitation, simulation and relevant clinical skills, and maintain currency in related clinical issues both nationally and internationally.
  • You will attend cardiac arrest attempts and deteriorating patient emergency 2222 calls for adults, and/or pediatrics, and or maternal/ neonatal emergencies as part of the specialist cardiac arrest team, alongside the Head of Resuscitation and / or Resuscitation Operational Leads, or until you have achieved an Advanced Resuscitation Provider status, at which point you will attend independently, acting in a role appropriate to your level of training and competence.
  • You will work clinically to maintain own competencies and credibility; this will include direct patient care and involve the assessment of clinical skills competency of staff in practice.

    We are looking for a registered professional, adult or pediatric nurse, allied health professional, or midwife with resuscitation service skills and experience to work within an enjoyable, challenging and progressive resuscitation and clinical simulation services team.
  • You must have current experience working in an acute hospital setting and a passion for patient safety, simulation based education and proven ability to deliver basic life support training. The successful applicant will join us in making a positive impact on patient care and supporting our multi-disciplinary colleagues through delivering and developing resuscitation operational services, simulation and resuscitation training to meet national and local standards. You will also be involved in patient safety improvements and initiatives and clinical audit program's across the different Trust sites which the team leads or contributes to. The role requires a minimum of 3 years post registration experience, providing patient care in an acute clinical area and the post-holder will need to have up to date clinical and resuscitation practical and theoretical knowledge in your relevant field. You must be an enthusiastic teacher, preferably with a recognized teaching qualification, and be prepared to work in a small dynamic team.
