Full Job Description

We are a hard-working team of finance change professionals and software developers, embedding bank-wide changes within Retail Finance in a controlled and clear manner, and delivering optimised financial modelling solutions. We engage with colleagues across Retail Finance to generate positive, data driven improvements to the technical landscape and tools used. We are engaged in the end-to-end process, from analysing the issues to providing solutions and training users on the new technology., We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing financial forecasting models built predominantly in Excel. They will collaborate with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop comprehensive scopes and technical specifications for optimising these models, rebuilding them predominantly in Python

Day to day, you will:

  • Analyse and understand existing financial forecasting models built in Excel.

  • Collaborate with business SMEs to gather requirements and understand business processes.

  • Document and deconstruct existing models to identify key components and logic.

  • Develop detailed scopes and technical specifications for rebuilding models in Python.

  • Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of specifications.

  • Support testing and validation of new models to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Deliver training and support to end-users on new models and tools.

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a financial environment.

  • Proficiency in Excel and VBA within a financial modelling context.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.


  • And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Knowledge of Python and Power Query is not required but would be useful. Previous knowledge of other programming languages would also be useful.
