Full Job Description
The post-holder will be responsible for managing the staff and volunteers within the Littlehampton store, day-to-day store operations and leading initiatives to maximise profit from the sale of goods. Key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Management + Maximise the revenue from the shop, through sales from donated and new goods + Ensure the team delivers high standards of customer service + Manage the shop in line with budgeted targets and retail KPIs and monitor the shop's performance against those targets + Initiate and implement sales promotions, stock generation activities and income from new goods + Establish and encourage a safe environment that embraces new ideas and creativity + Achieve the highest standards of merchandising and shop layout
- Staff Management: Help to recruit and retain great staff and volunteers and to help them reach their full potential through training and personal development. Be responsible for the welfare of the staff and volunteers and for maintaining a good team morale and motivation.
- Shop Operations + Ensure the shop operates in line with retail policies and procedures + Ensure that all statutory regulations are met with regard to Health & Safety, trading standards, and employment legislation. + Assist and, on occasion, run other shops as required + Maximise Retail Gift Aid income and ensure all gift aided stock is captured on donation and at point of sale., We're committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care and community living well services. Our sister hospice, Chestnut Tree House, is the children's hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. You'll be joining our organisation at a very exciting time, as St Barnabas Hospices and Martlets Hospice are in the process of merging.
