Full Job Description

At Hammersmith & Fulham, we are ambitious in reforming the council to ensure this is a place for everybody. Within the Place department, we aim to be efficient in everything that we do.

We believe our residents deserve a place that is safe, clean and green, with high quality services they can rely on.

Join a growing and mission-driven team delivering the most transformative agenda in urban decarbonisation.

Hammersmith and Fulham Council declared a climate and ecological emergency in summer 2019, setting a goal to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Our council housing contributes 29% of our scopes 1-3 emissions, making retrofit to achieve net zero carbon emissions one of the core challenges at the heart of our Climate and Ecology Strategy.

This transformational programme aims to improve residents' lives with warmer, healthier homes that are affordable to run and are well-adapted to a changing climate.

We're looking for a passionate and analytical individual to play a key role in delivering this transformation. The Retrofit Policy Lead will develop and analyse available data and evidence to develop policies that will drive forward the council's retrofit agenda.

H&F is currently developing its Retrofit Strategy to deliver its net zero goal.

Evidence-based policies that help deliver this strategy are fundamental to guide decision-making and legitimise optimal approaches.

The post-holder will work closely with colleagues across the council to develop and implement policies that are achievable and deliver the council's targets effectively and equitably.

If you are passionate about tackling climate change and possess the skills and qualifications outlined above, we would love to hear from you.
