Revenues Visiting and Verification Officer

The Revenues Visiting and Verification Officer role is vital to the administration and collection of Council Tax and National Non-domestic Rates. The role will include visits to properties within the Cheshire East Borough verifying reductions and exemptions and also reporting on new or altered properties to ensure that the Council receives maximum revenue., An exciting opportunity has become available in the Revenues Section for a Revenues Visiting and Verification Officer. The position is 37 hours per week working Monday to Friday., You will primarily work in the North of the Cheshire East area, based in Macclesfield, undertaking visits to large numbers of properties in order to maximise income by the verification of discounts, exemptions and reliefs for occupied and empty properties for both Council Tax and NNDR. Inspection of new and altered properties to determine accuracy of the Rating and Valuation Lists also forms a large part of the role.

You will have:

• Effective communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work alone
• Competent computer skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to confidently collect information from members of the public
• Enthusiasm to learn and be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the role and suggest innovative ways to improve the efficiency of the role
• Knowledge of the Cheshire East area would be an advantage
