Full Job Description
This post is a full time post (10PA) with responsibility for management of Rheumatology outpatient clinics and partake in the " Rheumatologist of the the week" rota (1:4), The Rheumatology clinics include general Rheumatology clinics, Early Arthritis Clinics (with access to MSK ultrasound), Rheumatology Hot Clinics and telephone clinics. The traditional clinic template includes 2 x 30 min new appointments, 1x 30 min flare appointment and 6x 15 min follow ups. Current templates are subject to change in line with IPC guidance and Covid recovery plans. Rheumatologist of the week The Rheumatologist of the week rota (1:4) includes providing an inreach service for inpatients with registrar support (1-2 referrals per week), and referrals triage/advice and guidance on ERS (50 referrals per week). All remaining rheumatology consultants will continue to see inpatient referrals. The post holder will also participate in clinical pathway development or development of specialist services such as vasculitis or connective tissue disease. The post holder will be expected to provide support for the specialist nurses and junior trainees. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research and to teach medical undergraduate students from Oxford University, University of Buckingham and St. Georges Medical School. The job plan for the post is based on 10 PAs divided into 8 DCC and 2 SPAs (1 PA for CPD, audit and revalidation, 0.25 PA for departmental managerial role, 0.25 PA for lead on service development, 0.25 PA per trainee for educational supervision).
