Full Job Description

At Gregory Distribution, this is a great opportunity to work with the HSEQ and Learning & Development team to create a new Risk Assessment system across the Group. You will support each depot to use these templates to create a site-specific risk assessment. This is a 12 month contract. The position of Risk Assessor involves:

  • Create a central folder system for all sites in the group files to store risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Agree and create a new 'Site Specific' numbering principle and approach to recording in a tracker the site-specific Risk Assessments/Safe Systems of Work.
  • Agree on reviewed Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work template with areas for approvals and changes management.
  • Create a core set of Risk Assessments and file in into each site folder.
  • Support the operations to review and modify each Risk Assessment for their own operation.
  • Agree and set any generic Risk Assessments that will not require the site to write or review.
  • Convert the current Task Specific Safe System of Work to the new numbering principle.
  • Identify and apply ay current SSOW applicable to the new Ras and arrange the creation of any SSOW that are required to fill any new gaps.
  • Set up a new skill principle in iTrent for the new site-specific Safe System of Work.

    Operational experience in either transport or warehousing.
  • Experience writing risk assessments and/or Safe System of Work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic focus and continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience in file management.
  • MS packages to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, as the position will involve travelling across the Group.

    Salary for this role is £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience. This is a 12 month contract.
  • Hours of work are Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00
