As a Risk and Controls Support Administrator (Consultant Risk and Controls Partnering), you'll be supporting Collections and Recoveries, Bereavement, Times of Need and Specialist Support You'll be working collaboratively with colleagues to appropriately identify, assess, manage, monitor and review all the key risks and associated controls. You'll be ensuring incidents are assessed, reported and analysed promptly; and managing key issues in line with Group Risk expectations The role includes analysing, interpreting and presenting risk data to support local risk governance forums and working collaboratively with key business stakeholders to maintain an awareness of industry, corporate and community 'change activity' which may give rise to risk events. You may be asked to provide risk advice and present formal risk assessments / committee papers to promote the delivery of fair outcomes and good experience for members. And alongside your team, you'll be helping to build a robust, compliant risk framework to keep Nationwide, its members and customers safe. This role is in our Risk Partnering team that provides first line risk management support to Collections and Recoveries, Bereavement, Times of Need and Specialist Support. These areas all work directly with customers during some of the most difficult times in their lives meaning there are a lot of operational, and conduct, risks to manage. We help to ensure the business navigates these risks, as well as improving processes, enhancing controls, and delivering change in an effective and compliant way. What you'll be doing You'll be responsible for ensuring our risks and controls, issues and incidents, are managed and reported effectively. You'll need to engage with your risk colleagues and the business areas to ensure you understand the key issues affecting the teams and can manage, and report on them accurately and effectively. You'll work closely with the Risk Partners to create and maintain the business' risk and control profile. And this you'll engage with key business stakeholders to ensure they manage risks and incidents in a timely and effective manner, as well as supporting the team in creating regular reporting that goes to both local, and Retail-level, stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience understanding, analysing and interpreting high level data and insights to curate reports and material suitable for senior leadership team scrutiny
- An understanding of risk and control practices, with an ability to practically apply this knowledge in appropriate situations.
- Experience of being able to constructively challenge and influence stakeholders at varying levels both individually, and collectively in decision forums.
- Good analytical skills; experience identifying and reporting trends or anomalies in data.
- The ability to act decisively, objectively and maintain independence whilst also knowing when to escalate to senior staff for support and validation.
