In our continuous journey of growth and innovation within the Maritime Team here at Carnival UK, we are seeking a Risk & Investigations Manager to bring fresh insights and expertise to our department. Maritime is responsible for the safe operation of P&O Cruises and Cunard's fleet. We do this by developing capable and motivated colleagues, providing assets that are fit for purpose as well as delivering operational processes that meet and exceed the needs of the business. Our Maritime teams deliver the health, environment, safety, security and nautical & engineering expertise needed to ensure we can create unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests. The Risk & Investigations Manager is responsible for leading and co-ordinating incident and accident investigations, publishing reports, and ensuring root causes, corrective and preventative actions are captured and tracked in Global HESS. This role is integral to the Safety, Environment, and Accessibility Department, focusing on analysing and understanding the causes of incidents and accidents across CUK operations. Fully integrated into our ISM function, to ensure effective risk and incident management tools and processes are in place to mitigate business and operational risks, ensuring lessons learned are implemented, and stakeholders are fully engaged. This is an exciting opportunity where you get to learn and be involved in a wide range of operational matters as incidents can be related to Hotel, Deck or Technical. Accountabilities include:
- Lead and conduct thorough investigations of marine incidents and accidents. Following up actions related to investigations and ensure these are tracked and closed as required.
- Publish detailed investigation reports and recommendations in GHESS and share findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Carnival's Incident Advisory Group, attending meetings and working groups
- Lead on the co-ordination of ISM Compliance Ship Support Visits. This requires overseeing that subject matter experts attend the ships to ensure their areas comply with GHESS policies and procedures to manage risks within CUK.
- Manage internal audit review briefings to ensure lesson from audits are effectively addressed to prevent further non-conformances and briefing the Fleet on improvements required. This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organization and is available on a full-time, permanentbasis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
- Degree or equivalent in engineering, ship operations, environment or occupational health & safety related disciplines.
- Lead investigator experience.
- Proven record of implementation of an electronic risk assessment database/system, and incident management database/ system.
- Root cause analysis expertise.
