Full Job Description

We've an amazing new opportunity to become our new Risk Lead, reporting into the Head of Programme Controls. We see this role as essential to realising our Programme Controls service requirements and we're looking for a motivated professional with experience in a fast-paced Risk environment. We're looking for you to be leading the Risk Management service which includes being a risk advisor to the project and programme management community and, to assist in the successful delivery of outcomes through best practice risk management. You'll be developing, upholding, and communicating best practice risk management framework across the risk hierarchy to SPAs project and programme community. We're looking for you to be working with other programme controls and commercial functions to achieve an integrated risk management approach driving efficiencies and maturity of practices, along with developing and interpreting risk management data to generate reports to provide insights and drive efficiencies. You'll be owning the risk management framework and uphold governance and assurance to enable informed decision making, ensuring appropriateness of the risk management systems or equivalent, to capture appropriate risk management information and escalation, along with being a trusted advisor for the SPA in relation to project and programme risk management. We're looking for you to be creating the SPA risk culture and project community risk management culture, ensuring optimal performance, through effective mentoring and training, which includes responsibility for the coordination and strategic direction of routine / business as usual work activities.   • Taking ownership and accountability for their outputs and be driven to continuously improve how they work. SPA employees should act with the customer's best interest at heart, be clear and transparent communicators and be passionate about operating in an ethical fashion.
  • Proven experience of leading risk management within a PMO, Programme Controls or Major Project environment, along with being an knowledgeable in best practice qualitative risk management industry standards. You'll have proven knowledge of current recognised risk management standards and techniques.
  • Experience of operating within a fast-moving, dynamic environment, along with proven stakeholder management skills to influence risk management embedment and improving risk maturity.
  • Proven experience of Microsoft packages, including MS SharePoint, Word, Excel (MS Office 365) and tools used to support successful delivery of projects and programmes, along with a proven ability to influence teams to meet timescales and drive continuous improvements.
  • Experience of ensuring risk is considered across projects and programmes, supporting the interface between commercial and risk functions, along with managing and responding to complex problems in a fast-paced environment, and proven problem-solving capability.
