Full Job Description

The Projects and Programmes Division, a KBR Government Services Business Unit, is looking for a specialist in project risks. The role will work under the supervision of the Head of Project Controls, within the portfolio, programme, project management (P3M) team. The project risk control specialist will be responsible for using corporate software to coordinate the identification, capture, analysis and reporting of project risks, issues, benefits, and lessons learned in collaboration with project teams. They should have sufficient technical knowledge of project management to operate in a project control capacity. The person in the role will be given additional development training in advanced quantitative risk management techniques, and scheduling/cost management. The person needs to be highly collaborative and work well with a diverse group of people and personalities to achieve the work output required from the role. The role will require supporting pre-award to post-award project execution phases adhere to existing project risk management methodologies, process and procedures. They are responsible for ensuring projects adhere to a project risk management plan and where needed assist in the maintenance and tracking of project risks. The position will support risk identification, exercising judgement and knowledge of project requirements, organisational processes, and procedures to determine risk exposure. They will be supported in producing cost contingency forecasting associated with these risks and invested in developing their skills. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the consistent implementation of project risk management practices in compliance with corporate polices and business strategies from pre-award through post-award project execution phases
  • Supports the Head of Project Controls in adhering to project risk management philosophies, policies, training and existing procedures for the company
  • Overseeing the establishment of project managers project/program risk management plan
  • Support project manager in risk management workshops, overseeing the maintenance of the risk register
  • Facilitate development, implementation and tracking of mitigation actions, provide monthly and weekly reports, preparing and making presentations
  • Promoting the use of risk management across the work scope to facilitate successful delivery of contractual objectives
  • Under general supervision, uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes

    Previous experience in project controls and risk management
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with strong analytical skills
  • Experience with risk management software
  • Higher education degree or vocational qualifications (HNC/HND) with company-provided risk management training
  • Desirable:
  • Project management professional qualifications (e.g., APM PFQ, APM PMQ)
  • Training in data analytics
  • Skills:
  • Strong abilities in MS Word and Excel
