Full Job Description

As a Road Safety Tutor you will be expected to deliver cyclist (Bikeability) and pedestrian training programmes at various schools and sites across the Borough, to the National Standard. You must either be a 1 st 4sport Bikeability Cycle Instructor or willing to work towards this qualification (training will be provided). It is essential that you are a regular cyclist, have general road safety knowledge and previous experience of working with school staff and younger children. You may be required to support the work of the Road Safety Team with other initiatives. As a Road Safety Tutor, you are responsible for organising your own work, and for completing course related documentation. This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. Road Safety Tutors are responsible for liaising with schools to arrange and deliver class talks and outdoor pedestrian training to school age children. The successful candidates should have the ability to travel around the borough., Note: Applicants appointed to posts that require an enhanced DBS clearance must declare any periods of time that they have lived, studied or worked abroad and be prepared to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or a Statement of Good Conduct (SOGC) relating to anytime they were overseas
