Full Job Description
We are currently looking for 1 Modern Apprentice Roadworkers to join our Highways and Drainage Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for; Achieving an appropriate Civil Engineering related Qualification through hands on work experience within the Authority's Highways and Drainage Services section and by attending a nominated technical college course on a one-day per week basis.
- The main duties of the post;
- Develop academic and practical skills by regularly attending approved technical training establishments as stipulated in the apprenticeship contract, and undertaking other skills training.
- Completing and understanding the skilled areas of work under supervision as part of training and development.
- Planting, turfing, soiling and seeding.
- Operation of powered plant and equipment once qualified.
- General labouring work in relation to highway maintenance and construction.
- Working in trenches and other open excavations including drainage and ducting work.
- Ideally you will have;
- 4 GCSE's with grade D or above, including Maths and English / Welsh. If you think that you have the necessary experience and qualifications for this role, we would love to hear from you.
