Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Medicine Directorate within the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for the daily operational management of medical staffing issues.
The post holder will work alongside the Lead Rota Coordinator, Speciality Mangers, Doctors, Finance Department and Workforce. The post holder will need to use initiative, working in sometimes complex situations to oversee the running of medical staffing within the Medical Directorate. Excellent communication / interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to use your own initiative to solve problems as they arise.
The hours of work are 37.5 per week.
Main duties of the job
Using independent judgment, the post-holder will be responsible for the daily operational management of medical staffing issues.
Key aspects of this post include co-ordinating and overseeing the smooth running of the established shift patterns and leave arrangements in line with the New Deal - Junior Doctors Hours/European Working Time Directive. The post holder will work closely with medical staffing personnel and the Health Board's New Deal Co-ordinator, in monitoring the shift patterns on a regular basis to ensure continued compliance with the New Deal. The post holder will also have responsibility for producing duty rosters for all medical staff including out of hours on-call and day time Roster's for Consultant and junior medical staff.
Working as part of the Medical Directorate Management Team, the post holder will also undertake appropriate ad hoc projects as and when required. These projects will be in line with the responsibilities of the grade of the post.
By Nature of this post, excellent written and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines are essential.
Working as part of the Medical Directorate Team, the post holder will be expected to provide urgent cover and administration support in the absence of colleagues.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
