Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Whittington Health for an experienced band 5 or existing band 6 physiotherapist to develop their skills and knowledge in a range of challenging rotations

The Physiotherapy service covers a broad range of services with 6 monthly B6 rotations, you will have the chance to deepen your experience as an autonomous practitioner. Working as part of integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Teams you will be providing a high standard physiotherapy service to patients at Whittington Health

Respiratory ward Including active participation in physio led acute NIV provision

ITUWorking in a 15 bedded ITU

General Medicine Working with Gastro, Haematology and general medical patients

Care Of Older Persons Team A dedicated unit for older people presenting with complex needs including, frailty, delirium, dementia, medical comorbidities, and social concerns. There is also an opportunity to work with neurological outliers

Acute Medical Admissions and ED Working on AMU and ED with an admission avoidance focus

Orthopaedics Surgical and Trauma at Whittington and Elective at the purpose built Southern Elective Orthopaedic Hub

Community Discharge to Assess Supporting the transition from hospital to home

All rotations strongly encourage CPD, and there are robust in-service training, appraisal, and personal development programmes. The Whittington has a reputation for providing a friendly working environment with supportive and experienced clinicians, As an autonomous practitioner to provide a high standard physiotherapy service to patients within Whittington Health as part of a six-monthly rotations through Whittington Hospital, Southern Elective Orthopaedic Hub and Islington Discharge to Assess Service.

To work within trust clinical guidelines and to have a good working knowledge of national and local standards and monitor own and others quality of practice as appropriate. To comply with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. To comply with Health and Progressions Council (HCPC) Standards of proficiency for Physiotherapists, and standards of conduct, performance and ethics.

Assessment and management of a physiotherapy caseload

To participate in multidisciplinary meetings and team meetings

Mentorship and supervision of junior members of staff

Supporting the day to day running of the physiotherapy service

Active involvement in service development and QI projects
