Full Job Description

With 250+ employees working within our Therapy Department, we pride ourselves on enabling all our workforce the opportunity to develop and grow their skills, offering a career, not just a job.
When joining our team you will be welcomed to attend our band 5 trust preceptorship programme and in-house training scheme, as well as receive learning specific to each rotational specialty area.
Throughout each rotation you will be supported by your named supervisor who will also be a specialist in your rotational clinical area. Your supervisor will enable you to develop skills to work independently as well as alongside other therapy and MDT colleagues.
Our organisational vision is 'To provide excellent care for the communities we serve' and as a member of the Therapy services team your contribution to the profession of Occupational Therapy will be integral in enabling patients to receive holistic assessment to enable them to recover and be discharged from the hospital environment.

Working for our organisation
We believe in developing leadership at all levels which is why we encourage all of our employees to engage in service development so that we can continually update and improve services provided to patients in keeping with evidence based practice. To enable you to expand your knowledge beyond our current band 5 rotational areas we would also invite successful candidates to spend time learning from our wider Occupational Therapy team including those working in the areas of hand therapy, critical care, neurology and as part of the Macmillan integrated therapy team.
We are also currently working with therapy partners within our integrated care system to offer cross-organisational band 5 rotational opportunities in neighbouring trusts who provide community therapy services, mental health services and specialist spinal and orthopaedic services to patients in our region.
All new graduates joining us will be supported through the trusts preceptorship programme and all band 5s are allocated 10% of their contractual time to supporting professional activity (SPA).
Clinical supervision, opportunity to attend internal and external training relevant to your role and career aspirations will also be supported. Please see separate information for more information regarding our offer including our Occupational therapy training and development pathway, strategy and career development structure.

We are committed to offering an interview to applicants from the Armed Forces community who meet the minimum criteria for the position. In addition, for those who are successfully appointed from the Armed Forces community, the Trust are committed to recognising previous service and rank in terms of pay, annual leave and other terms and conditions.
We are committed to equal opportunities in employment. At the heart of our policy, we seek to treat people fairly, flexibly and with dignity and respect.

We aim to create a trusting, flexible workplace, that attracts talent and enables everyone to be their best working self. Many of our colleagues work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you need.
