Full Job Description
- To provide clinical assessment and treatment for complex patients with respiratory and rehabilitation need.
- To design and deliver training and development of junior members of staff to develop clinical skills, including on call competency. There is an expectancy that the successful candidate will play a lead role in this area.
- To support a busy team of Physios, OTs, TAs, and APs alongside team leaders.
- To organise and contribute to in-service training programmes for staff and students, and the wider MDT.
- To support with data collection and performance monitoring of the clinical areas and use this data to identify areas of the service needing development.
- To provide supervision, support and appraisal to bands 5-3.
- To provide supervision and support to undergraduate students from HEI's in the Northwest. The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to meet service demands over a seven-day service, and there is a clinical expectation to participate in the on-call rota as required., 1. To undertake physiotherapy assessment, clinically diagnose and implement agreed treatment plans, evaluate care delivery according to health care needs for routine and complex patients. 2. To advise, assist and educate, staff grade Physiotherapist and student Physiotherapist in the management of routine patients. 3. To ensure effective communication with patients, carers and all other Health & Social Care Professionals regarding all aspects of patient care. This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating. 4. To participate in Departmental Planned Out of Hours Working and Emergency On-Call Rota. 5. Represent Physiotherapy Service at Multidisciplinary Meetings to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated Multidisciplinary Service. 6. Attend relevant ward rounds and clinics, working alongside the Multidisciplinary Team, assessing, advising and treating patients as required., The Trust is committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance and achieve fair, equitable and consistent practice. - Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC registration, Significant post-registration experience in a junior rotational post providing a broad range of clinical experience to include musculoskeletal / medical / respiratory conditions
- Majority of clinical experience in the NHS UK
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Evidence of a contribution to clinical education / supervision of less experienced staff, students or assistants, Broad range of clinical assessment and treatment skills based on current best practice
- Demonstrates an ability to comprehend and work within policies on health and safety, risk management and data protection
- Working knowledge of current NHS issues
- Evidence of self directed learning and willingness to participate in CPD, Demonstrates effective and adaptable communication skills including written and verbal
- Evidence of time management and organisational skills
- Computer literate
- Demonstrates an ability to pass on skills / knowledge to others

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled, well-motivated and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Critical Care/ Respiratory/ Surgical Therapy Team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be based in the new, state-of-the-art Royal Liverpool Hospital and will be responsible for supporting the Physiotherapy Service through nine-monthly rotations across the surgical wards, respiratory medicine and cardiology wards, respiratory support unit (which provides non-invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care) and critical care. You should have a strong clinical background, and knowledge and skills acquired across a variety of settings. You will be part of a high functioning multidisciplinary team providing specialist clinical contribution to the patient journey with high level assessment and treatment planning for complex patients. You should have excellent organisational, planning and time management skills. You will need be on-call competent and comfortable with working in a challenging, acute, fast paced environment. You must have strong leadership and people management skills, including supervision. You will be joining an innovative team and therefore will be required to demonstrate a strong commitment to service development, audit and research. We are passionate about developing our staff, you will have access to peer support and supervision from the Team Leads and will be supported to attend courses and training.,
