Full Job Description
We are recruiting for Rotational Therapy Assistants who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff., The successful post holder will be expected to support therapy intervention given to patients, working as part of integrated therapy specialty teams, consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants on a rotational basis delivering 7 day services. Rotations currently include-
+ Older Persons
+ Cardiorespiratory
+ Orthopaedics (Trauma and Elective)
Rotations to the following may also be considered dependent on skill mix - Surgical, NeuroMacmillan, Front Door, Frailty, Cardio-Resp and Paeds and Pelvic Health. There may also be opportunity for a rotation to our Sheppey Frailty unit - ME12 3LT.
As a Rotational Therapy Assistant you will ensure that patients receive high quality therapy care.
The Rotational Therapy Assistant will work in partnership with members of the MDT both internally and external to the organisation.
The role may involve weekend working and may involve extended hours - 8am-8pm.

To contribute to our exciting future and become part of our team, apply today., Assist the therapist or senior Therapy Assistant in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients using a range of therapy techniques e.g. on access visits, stair assessments.
To undertake patient treatments as delegated by the therapist, following a treatment plan, and feedback reactions and progress to the therapist
Treat patients individually or in a group with direct / indirect supervision in a variety of settings e.g. ward, gym, clinic.
To undertake skilled support work e.g. supervising active exercise, therapeutic handling, functional activities, passive exercise, initial interviews.
To assist the therapist with the moving and handling of complex, high risk patients in preparation for /during treatment sessions according to Patient Risk assessment.
Instruct patients and carers, providing direction and guidance on the treatment programme and progression and guidance in health promotion
Encourage patients and their carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence. This requires empathy, sensitivity and good interpersonal skills.Use effective communication tools, verbal and non-verbal to communicate treatment programmes to patients who may have barriers to understanding or communicating, e.g. blind, deaf, dysphasic, or who do not have English as a first language.
Make accurate records of patient contacts undertaken and keep monthly statistics as required in line with Trust, CSP and service standards.
To document in MDT records all treatment undertaken
