Full Job Description
Act as the Armoury Manager's assistant for HMS Collingwood
Advise Armoury Manager on matters pertaining to HMS Collingwood armoury.
Accountability
Armoury Manager for primary responsibilities and duties.
OiC CAPTU as Weapon Engineering authority.
Tasks
Maintain the SA register RN S3016A and JAMES MIS (REPAIR MANAGER).
Conduct 6 and 12-Monthly Mandatory Equipment Inspections and repairs ensuring minimum disruption to the Unit's programme of events / EXs / Ops, raising Army General Form (AFG) 8800 work demands through NCHQ if required.
All work is to be recorded in the workshop Master Register ensuring equipment faults are recorded and rectified or quarantined. Raise JAMES Component Reports and MoD Form 731 instances of Beyond Repair/Beyond Local Repair (BR/BLR) and/or when disposal of equipment is required. Liaise with stores for ordering, transport and returns, ensuring all associated paperwork is raised.
Conduct inspection of weapons the maintainer is qualified on, in the event of an unintended discharge, ensuring segregation of equipment and raise the appropriate AFG 351 inspection report.
Liaise with Joint Asset Management & Engineering Solutions (JAMES) on SA matters.
Ensure equipment released for use is 'Fit for Purpose' and serviceable.
Maintain the Calibration Register.
Ensure correct documentation is raised and/or checked prior to equipment being returned and issued.
Ensure equipment returning to the Armoury is checked for cleanliness and serviceability. Overseeing fault reports raised by individuals returning the equipment as / when required.
Ensure that the minimum 10% of spares for equipment held is maintained and replenished as required.
Ensure the security of all equipment held in the Armoury and workshop during working hours.
Carry out Daily Musters in accordance with RN S3016A Para 5.
Assist the nominated OOD with the weekly, monthly, and quarterly weapons musters in accordance with JSP 440.
Be competent with Special Tools and Testing Equipment (STTE) provided and ensure correct usage procedures are carried out.
All weapons for issue outside of working hours are to be prepared along with the relevant paperwork and the OOD informed.
Assist in the annual preparation of all equipment and documentation for the - Inspectorate Naval Establishments Small Arms (INESA) L2 Inspection.
Be an additional POC in Unit for Armoury and SA matters.
Ensure that the statutory Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
Ensuring strict observance of all safety precautions when handling Small Arms.
Maintain and adhere to the UECD (Unit Equipment Care Directive). To include preparation and presentation of equipment for regular management checks.
