Full Job Description

You will be the first point of contact for RRC events, membership and enquiries, manage the RRC inbox and allocate emails across the team. Undertake the efficient planning, booking and delivery of RRC events and meetings and provide support to the technical team and the RRC Board. Maintain the business contacts database for communications, membership and GDPR compliance. Administer all membership related tasks; renewals, sign up, fee levels, promotion, reporting on usage, etc.

You will work with the Managing Director, Accounts Technician, Communications and Training Officer and Accounts Assistant in maintaining professional customer service and an effective and efficient working office environment.

You will have a relevant vocational qualification or similar experience. You will have experience of working/responding independently and balancing multiple tasks, event administration and bookings, administration of a busy office and team. You must be a competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and at designing effective spreadsheets. You must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to work accurately with tables and data. You will demonstrate excellent time management skills and be methodical with attention to detail. You will be able to work flexibly as part of a small team across multiple tasks.

RRC is an independent, not-for-profit information and advisory centre, supporting all aspects of river restoration, habitat enhancement and best practice river and catchment management. Our office is based at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire and we are funded through UK environmental agency collaborative agreements, projects, advisory work and our programme of events. We work to ensure UK river restoration projects are planned and implemented using best practice technical understanding, and are delivered by trained practitioners.

The River Restoration Centre (RRC) is proud to be hosted at Cranfield University. Our employment contracts are through the University whilst all day to day work is directed by the River Restoration Centre. The position will involve some travel to locations across the UK.
