Full Job Description

You will assist in providing an effective and efficient video editing service to the National VIPER® Bureau, based at the District HQ, Normanton.

The National VIPER® Bureau provide a high-quality method of recording images of suspects and producing video identification parades to police forces around the UK, enabling the effective investigation of crime and supporting witnesses in a safe and efficient manner.

We're looking for 2 Video Editors to join our small friendly team of editors who remotely assess these images and edit the video identification parades daily.

The role requires an enthusiastic and engaging individual who has previous hands-on experience of producing video edits in a professional or an academic video editing environment and a detailed knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, with practical experience in using After Effects and Photoshop software. Full training will be given for the role to the successful candidates.

You will be working in a motivated and friendly environment that is leading the way in delivering a bespoke service to aid investigations and supporting victims of crime.

Responsibilities after internal training:

  • Review and grade suspect images submitted remotely from VIPER® forces across the UK

  • Edit parades within set timescales

  • Add masking treatments in line with the standard VIPER® approach

  • Add photorealistic features to volunteer images on parades where required

  • Maintain accurate project and file organisation

  • Record observations on parades and images to ensure effective collaboration with your colleagues and Users of the service

  • Provide technical support to Users of the service via telephone, Applicants should be aware that it is not always possible to carry out adequate vetting checks on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last five years. Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused because it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.

  • Proficient in the use of After Effects and Photoshop software

  • Able to produce edits to set deadlines

  • A proven aptitude for computer based work and accurate keyboard skills

  • Able to critically review and assess images

  • Physically capable of lifting and successfully completing a manual handling course

  • Able to travel on occasion for business purposes
